Tonight was our annual key moments gathering hosted by club member Steven Hoagland. All members are invited to submit their favorite shots from the previous year to be included in a slide show presentation for the club. Members share why that photo is important, symbolic or otherwise a key moment for them.. This has been a wonderful way to get to know the other members better. We learn a little about their lives, feelings and how and why they shoot what they do in the manner they choose to capture it.
This photo is from the event host, part of his Project 52 for 2013 (another year long HRDPC challenge). Steven took a photo of a historic part of Hampton Roads each week and researched it. He claims to have learned more about this history of the region in this one year than all the time he has lived here.
So.. as you are snapping this year, be sure to think about capturing what is important to you and consider sharing it with the group next year.
